CSTA Idaho was established as your local computer science community. This chapter was built to connect you with other computer science teachers, provide professional development to help you improve your craft, and connect your local voice to the national computer science education community.

  • Penni Aufderheide Keck

  • Penni Aufderheide Keck is a highly experienced teacher and the current president of CSTA-Idaho. She teaches technology, robotics, and humanities at Jerome High School in Jerome, Idaho. With 28 years of teaching experience, Penni has spent most of her career as a music teacher, teaching band, choir, and 4th and 5th music for 26 years. Despite being a music teacher, she always had a passion for technology and integrated it into her classroom whenever possible. Mrs. Aufderheide Keck also taught after-school robotics and Girls Who Code classes. She lives in Twin Falls, Idaho, with her husband Richard and enjoys camping and riding the trails in their Razor.

  • Dr. Kellie Taylor has been an elementary teacher for 21 years, focusing on STEM, space education, coding, and robotics. She is currently teaching 3rd grade at Hawthorne Elementary in Boise.

    • Lucas Hutson has been in technology for 15 years. The last 9 have been in Idaho schools as a teacher and technician. Lucas teaches Computer Science and Game Design at Lakeland Middle and High School.
